Class Plan: Class will start on land with Introductions SUP 101 (learn about your board, how to paddle and balance on your board)

45 minute Yoga Practice
Paddle back to dock.
No yoga or paddle board experience necessary.
What to wear: athletic or swimwear that you don't mind getting wet. Remember the ABC rule-anything but cotton.
What to bring: water bottle, sunscreen, towel. You will get a locker for your keys.

Whether you are brand new to yoga or returning to the mat after some time away, this beginner series is the perfect place to start! These sessions are designed to be gentle, welcoming, and accessible. No flexibility or experience required. We will focus on building awareness, finding the options that are best for your unique body and connecting to our breath. We will learn the foundational poses of yoga, leaving you more confident in your body and more peaceful in your mind.
At Cota Studio, we understand what you need for a happy and healthy body and mind. Our fitness classes are fun and accessible. Our yoga classes will leave you feeling physically and mentally balanced. We offer a variety of classes, including Yoga, Barre, Strength, Step Aerobics and kid yoga. Hi! My name is Sam, owner of this magical space. I have called the Cedar Valley my home since 2012 but grew up in Harpers Ferry, Iowa. I attended UNI and graduated with a BA in theatre performance and theatre for youth. A couple years after graduating college, I took a yoga class as a work challenge and was hooked. Before I knew it, I was attending every day and a year later signed up for my 200 hour certification. I started teaching as much as I could and in 2020 quit my day job to pursue teaching yoga full time. Around that same time, I took my first fitness certification in barre. I'm an
E-RYT 500 yoga teacher and certified SUP yoga instructor. When I'm not teaching, you can catch me on my paddleboard, biking, roller blading and hiking with the two best dogs around, Arlo and Annie. I'm a lover of good food, cooked by my fiancé Tyler, coffee (my life source) and books.
